The Satanic Temple Arizona

The Satanic Temple Arizona Chapter was founded February 2016 by Chapter Head Michelle Shortt and Media Liaison and TST Legal Counsel Stu de Haan. TST AZ focuses on three main components:

  1. Civic actions through activism
  2. Charitable works
  3. Community building for Satanists, atheists, and free-thinkers.

TST AZ has made a positive impact in our community by collecting donations for Menstruatin with Satan and cleaning up a stretch of highway for Highway to Hell.

The Satanic Temple also has a current lawsuit against the City of Scottsdale for religious discrimination. Please visit the "Scottsdale Invocation Campaign" page for more details.

The mission of The Satanic Temple is to encourage benevolence and empathy among all people within reason, reject tyrannical authority, advocate practical common sense and justice, and be directed by the human conscience to undertake noble pursuits guided by the individual will. Civic-minded, The Satanic Temple has been involved in a number of good works including taking a stand against the controversial and extremist Westboro Baptist Church, working on behalf of children in public school who have been subject to corporal punishment and more.

As an organized religion, we feel it is our function to actively provide outreach, to lead by example, and to participate in public affairs wheresoever the issues might benefit from rational Satanic insights. As Satanists, we should all be guided by our consciences to undertake noble pursuits guided by our individual wills. We believe that this is the hope of all mankind and the aspiration of all humanity.

Many of those interested in The Satanic Temple come to us because of our fierce activism. Satan is the ultimate archetype and thus makes his character a perfect tool/weapon to be able to combat Church and State issues. One must also remember that Satanism is also our religion, held on by deeply held beliefs that have shaped and molded us into the people we are today. If you are new to Satanism and would like to learn more about it, please read our FAQ.
