The Satanic Temple Arizona Chapter is proud to celebrate its 2nd anniversary since being founded in February of 2016. Come join us for a fun time at Native Grill and Wings off Speedway and Country Club. We have reserved the party room and are looking to have a few drinks and good food surrounded by TST members and allies.
Don’t be shy to come by and meet the Council! This will be the perfect opportunity to meet in a relaxed setting where we will be available to answer any questions in regards to TST campaigns and how to become an active member of TST AZ.
In just 2 shorts years, TST AZ has allot to be proud of.
Prior to receiving official chapter status, current TST AZ Chapterhead Michelle Shortt and Media Liason Stu de Haan made the news when Michelle requested to give an invocation in before a Phoenix City Council meeting. The chaos that ensued only provided proof to the hypocrisy that these “open-forums” are only extended to religious majorities at the expense of other religious groups.
“The consensus is to bring back public prayer as long as it’s their own religion. Your government is tirelessly working on a policy of discrimination.
The actions of some of the Phoenix City Council members are shameless and abhorrent. There are greater issues to be discussed for Phoenix.” – Read the article on AZ Central
Following the Phoenix invocation request, TST AZ was formally granted chapterhood and proceeded with their request to perform an invocation in Scottsdale. Let’s just say that TST plans on revisiting this issue very soon. You may revisit the articles covering the both the Phoenix and Scottsdale invocation requests here on our website.
We had a tumultuous first year since we hit the ground running with all the media attention we received. Year one primarily focused on community building and once 2017 began we were able to finally get our heads collected to start working on charitable campaigns. In 2017, TST AZ successfully completed a Menstruatin’ with Satan run that aims to make menstruation products available to all people in need, especially those who may not be able to afford them without assistance. Currently, TST AZ is working on our Highway to Hell (Adopt-A-Highway) Campaign. We hope to have completed all the necessary cleanups by mid-year so that we may get our sign along the I-10. For more information, visit our website.
2018 is looking to be even busier than ever. The chapter has many plans in store that will focus on community building, charitable campaigns, and civic outreach. We invite you attend any of our gatherings or to visit our website to find out ways that you can become more involved.
Let’s look back at some of TST AZ’s proudest moments!
